Mall of Promise

Situation.

Four Seasons Town Center in Greensboro, NC, was nearing the end of the largest renovation in its 25-year history. The management team wanted to develop a public service project that would be effective in addressing a particular need in the local community, and wanted to really make a difference in order to be noticed in a competitive market.

Solution.

The disturbing rise of violence in the public schools inspired us to seek ways that Four Seasons could work with Governor Hunt's initiative to "change the outcome" for at risk students in the Greensboro area. We created an after-hours sale that would benefit local mentoring initiatives, creating a special private party complete with Deniece Williams, food and family fun. All proceeds benefited Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Communities in Schools.

Results.

Raised $65,000 for local mentoring charities, and received designation from Colin Powell as the first Mall of Promise in the America's Promise program. Colin Powell visited the mall along with Governor Hunt to grant the article, bestowing our own little red wagon. More importantly, Four Seasons made a real difference to thousands of local kids.
