If experience is the best teacher, then Ed Camp can certainly say he's had a great teacher! He has been involved in marketing since the age of 12 when he started selling refrigerators and electronics at his dad's small business in Madison, NC. After earning a degree in Journalism/Advertising at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he went from a brief stint as a media representative to a nearly 25-year career in the shopping center business.

During his career, he has achieved quantifiable, award-winning success on the local, regional and national level. Those who know his work recognize Ed for the vision and creativity to identify problems and opportunities, develop sound strategies, and implement concepts that achieve results.

His shopping center career is highlighted by achieving two Maxi awards, marketing awards given by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He has been directly responsible for over 20 Maxi finalists, and involved in a team marketing effort that netted a number of additional Maxi Award winners. He achieved the Certified Marketing Director status in 1987 from the ICSC.

Ed loves to volunteer, and has been involved in all sorts of non-profit causes over the years and received numerous awards for his service. He has served on local boards for the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Communities in Schools, Make A Wish Foundation, Community Appearance committees, and BoysCAMP, among others. Currently, he is honored to serve in the following capacities: Junior League of Charleston, Advisory Committee; United Way of the Trident, Communications Committee; Halos (child abuse support), Board of Directors; Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, ROI Committee; Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Strategic Planning Committee.

Although a self-described Tar Heel born and bred, Ed returned to Charleston, SC, in 2004 to the place which he considers his second home. His blood still runs Carolina Blue, an attitude he gained while attending UNC-CH where he gained a number of campus honoraries involved with both advertising and student leadership. Among all things, he still believes his greatest accomplishment is his daughter, Peggy.
